Until August 26th the Luca Signorelli exhibition, which is spread over three major venues in Umbria, will be offering visitors a full and complete understanding of the milestone importance of this artist in the Italian Renaissance. Some of Signorelli's best known works are in fact his fresco cycle within the Duomo of Orvieto, in the San Brizio Chapel. For the exhibition the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo will be opening a special section devoted to the Cortona-born genius.

The monthly edition of the Via della Costituente crafts market will take place on May 26th and 27th, to coincide with the Festa della Palombella. As usual, there will be stands selling everything from ceramic to glass, textiles, leather, wood carvings, paintings and organic produce.
Open from 3 to 8pm on the Saturday and from 8am to midnight on the Sunday.

On May 27th Orvieto will be holding its traditional Festa della Palombella, which takes place on Pentecost every year. At 12 noon in Piazza Duomo there will be the descent of the Palombella, symbolising the Holy Spirit, and a dove will be handed to a newly married couple. At 6.30pm in Piazza Duomo there will be a concert by the L. Mancinelli Orvieto town band.

The exhibition is entitled "Memorie disvelate: nuovi documenti per la storia".
